The **Quote** tab (SmartQuote on our website) reads the lanes in a shipper's email and opens your reply with your prices in it. You set every price, and you send the email.

You need the [Outlook panel](https://help.smartloads.io/install-the-outlook-panel) installed first.

## Quote an email

1. Open the shipper's rate request in Outlook.
2. Click the **SmartLoads** icon, then the **Quote** tab.
3. Set **Email from** to **Shipper**.
4. Click **Read quote request**. If the email doesn't look like a quote, the button says **Read as a quote request**.
5. Check each lane the panel found.
6. Type your price for each lane in its **Your quote** box.
7. Click **Reply with quote**.
8. Outlook opens a reply to the sender with one line per lane you priced. Read it, edit it if you like, and click **Send**.

Each line reads like "Origin, ST → Destination, ST, flatbed, pickup Oct 10: $1,250 all in." The panel then says **Reply opened. Review it, then Send.**

If the reply doesn't open, click **Copy quote** and paste it into your own reply.

The panel reads up to 10 lanes from one email. If there are more, it tells you, and you quote the rest by hand.

## Market rates

With each lane, a market box shows Truckstop Rate Insights' **Low**, **Avg** and **High** for the trip, with a per-mile figure under **Avg**. It's for you only and never goes into the reply.

Market rates need your agency's Truckstop connection, and they show for brokers and admins. When rates aren't available, the panel says why, for example "Truckstop isn't connected for your agency."

When the email names no trailer, the market box shows flatbed rates.

## A carrier asking about one of your loads

1. Set **Email from** to **Carrier** and click **Check carrier inquiry**.
2. Choose your agency and click **Find matching loads**, then pick the load.
3. Tick the box to confirm you checked the email's lane, pickup date and equipment.
4. Type the **Proposed carrier rate (total $)** and click **Prepare reply draft**.

Outlook opens a reply for you to review and send. The **Internal only** box shows your own figures for that load. They never go into the reply.

## What the Quote tab doesn't do

- It doesn't choose a price. You type every number.
- It doesn't send email. Outlook opens the reply, and you click **Send**.
- It reads only the email's text, not its attachments.
